Laboratory QAQC Officer and PEPFAR SRV IT Support Officer Job Vacancies

1. Laboratory QAQC Officer
(One Post)

Job Summary:


Based at Kericho and attached to the Nakuru PGH, the incumbent will serve as a laboratory Quality Assurance / Quality Control (QA/QC) Coordinator.

S/he will oversee Quality Management activities in the laboratory, improve current quality practices and maintain all accreditations held.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• In charge of SOP management - ensuring annual reviews, archiving, maintaining lists and review schedules, and ensuring that all staff have read and signed off.
• Perform monthly data review in compliance with the laboratory continuous quality improvement and quality assurance procedure,
• Maintain laboratory equipment quality control documentation and schedule necessary maintenance, including weekly downloads of all data logging devices.
• Perform or delegate all the internal calibration of necessary laboratory equipment,
• Enter corrective actions into a computerized log, obtain director's approval and ensure proper filing of the documentation.
• Assess competency of laboratory staff and maintain performance documentation
• Coordinate external quality assurance activities with other partner institutions.
Minimum Requirements:
• A higher diploma or degree in medical laboratory technology from a recognized institution local or foreign
• Registration/ Licensure is a requirement: Preferred registration with the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technologists and Technicians Board.
Additional Requirements:
• Should have actively worked in a biological laboratory for at least three years,
• Experience: One year experience as a medical lab quality assurance officer
• Ability to train others.

2. PEPFAR SRV IT Support Officer
(One Post)

Job Summary:

The South Rift Valley (SRV) Presidential Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) in collaboration with various partners provides support for HIV prevention, care and treatment services in various sites within the SRV region.

The program seeks to recruit an IT officer, to be based at WRP Kericho, to offer technical assistance to the partner sites.

Key Duties and Responsibilities
• Facilitate capacity building of site staff on computer usage skills.
• Guide partners on computer maintenance, including antivirus update
• Provide technical assistance on selection, acquisition and proper use of computer hardware and software and on computer networks (LAN, WAN).
• Promote of use of internet for routine communication
• Promote routine use of electronic medical records systems
• Provide guidance on data security, including appropriate back up.
• Develop IT policy applicable to sites.
Minimum Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Computer Sciences.
• Professional training in user/desktop support (A+), and Network support (N+).
Additional Requirements:
• Experience with relational databases will be an added advantage.
• Ability to nurture good working relationships with the partner hospitals.
• Good team worker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
